Review of Nightmare Alley (2021) by Benjanzen — 28 Feb 2022
Guillermo del Toro creates such an imaginative and wonderfully immersive world in this film that I really got lost in. Beautiful production design, costumes, and cinematography here that left me in awe.
It is undoubtedly a bit of a slow burn but progresses and evolves in such interesting ways, climaxing in a truly bonkers and incredibly satisfying third act. So much care and intention was put into every frame of this film, and it shows.
Nightmare Alley feels like an old Hollywood film in the best way possible, and I loved every second of it.
