Review of Nightcrawler (2014) by Sanyrub — 19 Jun 2015
Very interesting and disturbing film which takes the essence of part of our society to extremes to prove a point. The film is pretty different to most of the films out there and Jake Gyllenhaal is fantastic in the role.
He totally disappears in the character and gives one of his best performances to date, the best for many. He is definitely on a roll lately, after Prisoners, Enemy and a couple of upcoming very attractive films.
He hadn´t enjoyed such acclaim since the Brokeback Mountain days. However, as good as this is, it lacks that push or x-factor that would make the film worth of an 8 or a 9. Hopefully we will get better and better bodies of work from this director.
