Nightcrawler - on the face of things a film about how media intrude into the things that shock and how they sell pain and misery and glamorise in the name of profit. Relate it back to films such as Oliver Stones 'natural born killers' and you see the link with this modern day.
Portrayal of the disgrace that is 'news media' Look a little deeper and you see that it focuses on complete social detachment from any conscience and the genuine shallow state of society and people in general. JG is immense, more cold a character than I have seen in a long time. Intelligent, manipulative but robotic in his demeanour with an insatiable drive to succeed at all cost whilst breaching all moral boundaries. Really enjoyable film that hits home to my long standing feeling that is regularly evidenced in the real world that.
