Review of Nightcrawler (2014) by Felipe F — 02 May 2015
This film is worth seeing for Jake Gyllanhaal's performance alone as he is almost unrecognisable. Here he plays a weedy, greasy. creepy opportunist who stalks the streets of Los Angeles with a camera and a police radio in an attempt to be the first on scene at horrfic crimes or accidents so that he may sell his footage to the news corporations. As the news corporations fight for ratings, Lou Bloom finds himself altering crime scenes and withholding evidence for his own ends.
A pretty decent dark thriller.
