...a brilliantly satirical and wildly engrossing thriller featuring a sharply-dialogued, perfectly-written script from its writer-director Dan Gilroy and a tight character study with a terrifically distinct and transcendent lead performance from Jake Gyllenhaal as well as a strong supporting performance from Rene Russo.
A film commentating on crossing moral boundaries has never been this intense, cutthroat and exact.
