Review of Nightbreed (1990) by Peter Y — 30 Jul 2006
If this was made with today's film making capabilities, it would've been much better than it is.
As it stands, it is undeniably b-movie material and the latex suits, while cool at times, is a little well, unsubtle and loses a lot when you see so many of them. Of course, this is part of the idea of them, that this is a form of normality, especially with these people and their world.
The normal people portrayed as the real mosters is predictable and this has some plot hole issues but sit back and just enjoy the film.
It is amusing at times and a little odd at times and the overall plot is cliched as hell but then again, so are most of the horror films made at that time.
