Review of Nightbreed (1990) by Federico E — 09 Nov 2014
Geez, if the Director's Cut is meant to be the better version, I'd hate to see the Theatrical Cut. Even with the extended run time, it attempts to cram in far too much; ultimately the whole Decker and priest subplots aren't needed.
As it stands, scenes are often far too short and (especially in the second half) the story moves far too quickly, leaving you puzzled over how characters knew certain things and why they are doing them in the first place.
It gets a minor plus for the visual style and creativity but it's still a mess of a movie.
