Review of Nightbreed (1990) by Darren R — 04 Jun 2008
It truly could have been a clever movie, instead it feels like the crew went ahead shooting without a script. The main character continues his quest for... for who knows what. It's as though the first fifteen minutes explaining everything weren't shot.
If anything makes up for the mediocre acting and nonexistent script, it's David Cronenberg, who plays a deliciously malicious pyschologist. It's a shame he doesn't act more often. Danny Elfman's score is nothing special as a whole, but has some great pieces.
Everything else sinks and stinks.
