Review of Night School (2018) by Ben D — 12 Oct 2018

This movie sucks, don't get me wrong, but I had fun watching it. A TON of great character actors here makes up for the shoddy writing. I think six dudes worked on the script? It was a mess, but the performances made up for it.

It was way too long, the last 20 minutes, my mind was thinking about other things, because you knew where the flick was headed from the first frame forward. Just skip some of the filler, and this thing would be passable.

I thought Haddish was the standout, you can see that her fight to the top was riddled with bumps in the road, because when she needs to bring believable emotion to her characters, she does it with ease.

I think she has the potential to do big things, and count me in as a big fan. Anyway, yeah man, smoke a blunt, grab a burger and go have fun at the movies with this one. Madrigold and dude from 40-year-old virgin, you know, Hazel Eyes on the commercial, them plus Haddish make it worth the price of admission.
