Review of Night on Earth (1991) by Olena B — 29 Jul 2008
I liked the director's idea. Five stories focused on relativity of our values. A fragile border between life as it is supposed to be and life as it is â?? goal and dreams, money and color, sex and loveâ?¦ and threat which hides either in the darkness of night or in oneâ??s prejudicesâ?¦ It is worth watching.
The movie reminds â??Coffee and cigarettesâ??, but, fortunately, not so many stories. Roberto Benigni played the most comic character in the movie â?? a cab driver in Rome. Although I usually like his action, this time his play was too emotional, loud, chaotic that I hardly could stand it.
