Review of Night of the Living Dead (1990) by Andrew C — 06 May 2009
I have no problem with Romero remaking his '60s classic in order to finally get some money from it. His updated script gives Barbara some character and focus, and the playing around with audience expectations in the final reel are fun to watch.
There's not nearly enough gore effects, considering it's directed by Tom Savini. It has none of the visceral qualities of the original, but then that was so imitated there's little else for this to do.
