Review of Night of the Living Dead (1990) by Ed Fucking H — 03 Apr 2011
Well much better than I thought it was going to be, even though it has some good people involved. I still can't figure out why anyone, let alone why Tom Savini would want to re-make NOTLD but here you have it.
This version doesn't stray too far from the original, but it's tone is defiently different. Where the original was really grim, without much room for comic relief, this one has a lot of humour.
The performances are over acted, but that works given the tone that this one is going for. This re-make doesn't stray from the underlying message of the original, but goes about making that point in a slightly different way.
Not as good as the original, but really what is. Woth a watch or Romero fans, just go into expecting it not to be as good as the original, and get a couple laughs.
