Review of Night of the Living Dead (1968) by Chris H — 06 Jul 2011
I love zombie films so naturally I wanted to see the one that is seen as the pivotal moment when zombie films were taken a bit more seriously (for the most part anyway). I wasn't expecting much given how old it is now but it's still fantastic.
Incredible how tense Romero manages to make the film even with the lack of special effects and also the fact that these 'ghouls' are nowhere near as manic and in your face as they are in modern films.
What a great ending also.
