Review of Night of the Living Dead (1968) by John O — 19 Nov 2013
Are you telling me that so many movies that borrow from this have been skipping the best parts? Every time I thought the story was about to run out of steam, it takes another interesting turn. The production shows the effectiveness of a miniscule budget, maximizing the corners and shadows of a boarded house in the countryside.
For an originator in the zombie genre, it explores a fair number of angles in a zombie apocalypse. Now I see the magic Romero's been trying to revive with all those post-2000 sequels (yes, I saw this after all of the other ___ of the Dead movies).
