Review of Night of the Demons (1988) by Ian B — 29 Jul 2009
A hilariously bad B-movie that's pure 80's horror cheese. Night of the Demons definitely falls under the "so bad it's good" category. Yes, the acting is bad, the story is cliched, and there aren't any surprises what-so-ever, but the movie still manages to be a lot of fun.
Director Kevin Tenny gives the movie some creepy haunted house atmosphere but "borrows" from Sam Raimi and the Evil Dead movie a little too often for my liking. For such a low budget movie the makeup effects are surprisingly good and I loved the cheesy animated opening.
Enjoyable if you know what you're in for.
