Review of Night of the Demons (1988) by Laurathespoiledwife W — 15 Jun 2010
Everything about this movie was classic B horror style. Gore, demons, sex, nudity, a person of every race, bad acting, you name it. Now with these types of movies you really have to like it to give it a good rating.
I tried to enjoy this film a lot, but I couldn't get into it. Some of the acting was so bad, I wanted to rip my hair out. But some of the actors were decent I guess. Billy Gallo was decent. One thing the movie had going for itself was the make up.
It was the great use of make up and props. None of that CG that you see in later films. There is just something about that cheesy make up that makes it look more real and fun. Even though I couldn't really get into this movie, since the story was just stupid, I will have to say it still had some funny scenes.
But the scenes were only funny because they are so bad. An example would be when this one guy got his eyes pushed out. It was more funny that gross.
