Sits squarely in the camp-horror field alongside such luminaries of the subgenre as "Re-Animator", "Return of the Living Dead" and "The Blob". If you expect exactly that kind of mix - inoffensive mild splatter alongside 80s-hairstyles, music and social observations - you'll probably have a great time with this alien invasion / zombie hybrid set on the campus of an American college.
Doesn't deserve to be quite as forgotten as it is.
