Review of Night Moves (1975) by Josh T — 07 Jan 2008
Inept stuntmen wreak havoc on jaded Hollywood rejects. I love Gene Hackman! This performance catches a wave from his gig in 'The Conversation', with a healthier serving of 'The French Connection' machismo.
Exceptional female roles all round and an ending that makes the finale of 'Jaws' (made in the same year) look like chopped liver...We watched this in our pyjamas early on a Sunday afternoon and felt sagely 30-something, farting gently in vague terror of the 40-somethings to come.
First class pseudo-70s overbite! Another hit, whoa! However, it's trenchantly misogynistic which grated a little, especially with the random nudity (normally a good thing).
