Review of Night Moves (1975) by Riley H — 07 Jun 2009
*** (out of four).
Well done thriller is solid, though it does feel a bit like a pilot for a 1970's private eye drama.
Gene Hackman plays Moseby, a touch L.A. private detective who is hired to track down a fading Hollywood star's teenage daughter and return her home. The journey takes him to the Florida Keys where things get complicated.
Arthur Penn's direction is very competant and Hackman is good, as always. The weak link here would probably be Jennifer Warren. She's a cold actress and it takes alot to warm to her.
