Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb finally comes to an end as a trilogy, the movie does have some fun with the historical characters but this installment does have a dull plot. The first installment of the series was a lot of fun, seeing every single historical character at a museum brought to life and how they all interacted and learn to cope with each other. The second installment introduced more characters but had repetitive humor and a boring plot. Now, this last installment does the same as the last two movies and a plot that is also forgettable.

The plot goes into some detail about this artifact of a tablet that brings the waxed characters at a museum to life. The movie starts in 1938 in Egypt, when the tablet was first discovered; only the archaeologists say the obvious about the tablet will soon come to an end once it has been removed from its spot. Back to present time, Larry (Ben Stiller) is successfully happy working at the museum and seeing his exhibits of displayed characters performing a live show at a nighttime event. Until, the characters slowly lose themselves when the tablet is slowly corroding away. Larry has to travel to the British Museum with the tablet, to find the Egyptian exhibit on which they may know how to stop the tablet from being destroyed.

The movie may have some fun with the characters that follow Larry around such as Teddy Roosevelt, Attila the Hun, Sacagawea, Dexter the monkey, Jedediah, and Octavius. Also an introduction to Sir Lancelot (Dan Stevens) that also had some humor.

Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Steve Coogan, and Robin Williams reprise their roles and still deliver the best they can. Dan Stevens was a fun addition to the mix. Rebel Wilson just was not as funny, playing a British Museum security. It looked like her character was written to be played by her, but her humor is plain annoying. The highlight is a brief cameo appearance by Hugh Jackman, which was quite entertaining.

Night at the Museum Secret of the Tomb is a fair comedy film, it does have some fun with the characters for one last time, but it still has trouble in having a memorable story.
