Review of Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb (2014) by Toysorama . — 15 Feb 2015
Out of all the three movies this one is probably in the worst. Funny at some moments, yet painful at others. It felt strong at the beginning while telling the backstory of the tablet. But once the rising action started it felt like we only toured about 1/8 of the museum. The end of the first movie had Larry and the others in a chase scene, the second had a huge battle between all the characters, and this one had Larry and only the important characters (which by the way "La isn't an important character at all. He's just the comedy relief for kids who haven't been potty trained yet) on a rooftop talking. And once the secret of the tablet was revealed it was so unbelievably stupid. It's like "I can't reveal the secret to you" and then you find out that the "big" secret is too just put it in moonlight. It was already in fucking moonlight! And every single scene with "La" was painful comedy. I feel like the only reason they made this movie was to have a reunion with the cast. And you can definitely tell by the party scene at the end. And I know that also happened in the first movie too, but this one stretched out far too long. It's not technically a bad movie, but there's just some stuff that really made me facepalm in the theater.
Grade: D+.
