Review of Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist (2008) by M H — 11 Jun 2010
Vacant.
It wants to have deep thoughts about the magic of love but it doesn't. I've seen every character before. The slightly camp gay bffs. Michael Cera as a big-eyed wounded puppy. The ex-girlfriend that is so very wrong for the young lead and a new girl who is oh so right. It didn't have as much irony for the sake of it as I figured it would, only a novelty horn on the band's van and a "Homey's Forever" picture on Cera's wall. There were an insulting number of contrived coincidences.
