Review of Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist (2008) by Brett W — 18 Jun 2010
One day our children will look back and ask "Mumsy, daddums, was there anything NOT pretentious and contrived about the things teenagers liked back in the 00's?".
"No, son. kids were suffocated by irony and incapable of formulating sincere interests. They were controlled by labels because those generic categories provided stability that they couldn't find at home. If you had no personality you could merely show people your ipod.".
And then I'll put this movie into the superviewohighdefinitiotron player.
Of course your child will never ask this, but hopefully this simulated conversation proves whatever point I was trying to make.
