Review of Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist (2008) by Alex G — 22 Sep 2010
Hmm a teen comedy that actually works.
If you're like me you're tired of cookie-cutter teen comedies full of stupid innuendos cause they think thats what teens wanna hear. Sure this movie isn't shy of those but its presents all its material in a more real and respectable manner. It keeps it a little more mature than others and I think it owes that to the script. Its not the funniest thing ever but it has its moments and they are all very well placed and presented.
The acting is very good from all the roles actually and I think the characters are well done as well, there aren't any characters that you keep thinking "When are they gonna stop showing them!" My only issue is once again Cera is playing hie one role he plays, awkward teenager who falls for girl. Sure hes really good at it but anyone would be good at it if they play it in every movie they are in! I'd like to see him go outside his box and try something new.
With all the Cera stuff aside this movie is actually very good and worth watching, especially due to all the really stupid teen movies out there. This one shines, and it has good reviews for a reason.
8/10.
