Review of Nice Guy Johnny (2010) by Robert I — 03 Jan 2011
Not bad. I really applaud Edward Burns for making a movie for only 25k. Gives a lot of hope for independent film makers. Edward Burns stars, wrote and directed this movie about a young man that is literally being pushed around to get a job that pays more, but doesn't fulfill his dream of becoming a sportscaster.
This guy is Johnny who doesn't know how to say no to the right people. Everyone in his life including his family, fiancé and uncle try to give him advice or tell him what to do. It isn't until he meets a girl named Brooke that he challenges himself to follow his dream.
Overall, the movie is very slow paced, but it has a lot of heart. There are some funny moments, but it's pretty serious. It doesn't have the greatest acting, but I enjoyed it enough.
Overall, if your looking for a drama take a look at this one.
