The story is an interesting concept - a dystopian look at what could happen if we let tech take over our lives - but the robot is more sympathetic and interesting than the protagonist. She's not just a brat, but emotionally manipulative and destructive.
The animation is compelling, but doesn't save the movie. Save yourself some time and just go rewatch The Iron Giant or Big Zero 6.
