Review of Next Gen (2018) by Michael T — 15 Sep 2018
I watched this movie this afternoon with my girls and have never been so disappointed in a children's movie. This movie was unnecessarily violent and not appropriate for kids. My 8 year old girls burst into tears after the movie it was so intense.
.. and that's after I skipped the even more intense ending scenes. On top of that, the swearing dog wasn't needed. Although they beeped out the swear words, kids that know bad words can fill in the blanks.
It's not funny so why do it. The trailer for this made it seem like a nice girl befriending robot movie. It had some moments but the dark violence wasn't needed And on top of that, it's the most unoriginal sci-fi plot of any movie with robots.
Spoiler alert. The robots want to kill all the humans because the robots think the humans are bad for the earth. Wow, I've only seen that plot in about 20 sci fi flicks. Shame on Netflix. At least put in some parental warnings in your reviews.
