Review of Next Friday (2000) by Guido S — 03 Feb 2014
Ice Cube is back, but Smokey is in rehab. He is sent to live with his father who won the lottery and lives out in the suburbs but is also behind on his property taxes. He must find a way to raise the money for his uncle so he doesn't lose his house.
Mike Epps as Day-day is a pretty solid replacement for Chris Tucker, but can't quite compare. He works at the record store owned by Pinky, who has some great scenes when he shows up. They all live next to some Latinos who are dealing and try to steal the money from them for their uncle.
The story in this one isn't nearly as good as the first, but makes up for it in the comedy which is much more outrageous than the first. I still liked this one despite that.
