Next is quite an uninteresting film; while we aren't supposed to know what is going to happen next, we have an idea, thus destroying an attempt at suspense. The plot is too straightforward to the extent which it seems forced and narrow-minded, adding to how implausible the film is.
The characters lack depth and so, do not actually feel like characters at all and as an audience, we do not connect with them. It doesn't help that the acting is extremely uninspired and depressingly dull.
Despite this, the film had an intriguing beginning but was ruined by a clichéd action story and over the top CGI effects. Next is bland, hardly worth a viewing and an easily forgettable film.
