Review of Newton (2017) by Tanvir M — 12 May 2018
Hugely impressed by India's Oscar submission and National Award winner 'Newton'. Incisive observations on the pitfalls of democratic system and the rituals expected to make it tick, not to mention sly and underhanded critique of military repression in secessionist States and of indigenous communities.
I found striking similarities in the allegations leveled against the government forces in the hill tracts in Bangladesh, and I was quite surprised that it made it unscathed through the censor Board in India and went on to become a hit.
Glad that it's available on Amazon Prime so that it can reach a wider audience.
