Besides being historically inaccurate, this movie is exactly what I need to watch every so often - a cheesetastice musical romp starring Christian Bale and Bill Pullman... one of those "so bad it's good" movies that plasters a smile on my face every time I see it.
I popped it in while I was cleaning my apartment and couldn't help but sing along (I even found my copy of the soundtrack... looks like this week we'll be singing "Carrying the Banner" on the way to work).
Catchy songs, a wide array of talented young men (many who we haven't seen in anything since), and pure Disney live-action cheese. Seize the day, newsies... seize the day :).
