Review of New York Stories (1989) by Divana I — 19 Jun 2007
Woody Allen's piece "Oedipus Wrecks," was absolutely hysterical! I think I watched it about 50 times. Between the bohemian psychic, losing his mother, and finding her again put me on the floor rolling while busting a gut.
Martin Scorsese's piece "Life Lessons" was also very good. The obsession of Nick Nolte's character was creepy, but human and relatable enough. The music was a great touch.
Francis Coppola's piece "Life Without Zoe" was trite and useless. I would rather spend the time scrubbing my toilet. With Vim Oxy-gel, of course.
P.S The five stars are for Woody's film alone.
