Review of New York Stories (1989) by Matthew J — 09 Apr 2011
- Martin Scorsese's Life Lessons is highly annoying and boring segment in which (horrible as usual) Nick Nolte plays a painter who falls in love with a younger woman. (20 %).
- Francis Ford Coppola's Life With Zoe is a more fun but pretty clumsy and childish. (40 %).
- Woody Allen's Oedipus Rex is the best segment of this film and it features a clever plot and a very funny performances by the leads. It is not the best of Woody Allen but it is one of the best. (70 %).
All in all this anthology flick is tired, boring and uninteresting. And it blows all of the potential it could have had.
