Review of New York, New York (1977) by Brandon K — 04 May 2012
It may not be the greatest musical ever made or Scorsese's best film. But it is still worth seeing and has very good musical sequences such as Happy Endings and of course the title song. Scorsese really tried to make this film a homage to the classic musical era (I.
E. Singin' in the Rain, The Band Wagon, A Star is Born) and it shows with Liza Minnelli in it (who is the daughter of Judy Garland). Check this film out, it is a huge departure from Scorsese's gritty style of film making.
