Review of New York, New York (1977) by Art S — 31 May 2013
In spite of it being both a modernisation and a tribute to classic Hollywood musicals with good intentions, and the good performances by De Niro and Minnelli, New York, New York never quite seems to come together and is unaided by an overall uneven script.
Perhaps its biggest fault, however, is that it weakens in comparison to other greater works by Scorsese.
