Review of New York, I Love You (2008) by M-C R — 31 Jul 2010
After the fun of Paris Je T'aime, this film was a huge letdown. Most of the vignettes are contrived and needlessly sexual. Also, unlike the Paris film, where each short film was seperate from the next, characters in this fim pop up with each other in little transitional bits, which make you wonder where each story begins and ends, and just leaves you confused.
By far the highlight was the final short with Cloris Leachman and Eli Wallach (The old guy from 'The Holiday') as an elderly couple wandering around New York bantering back and forth. Unfortunately nothing else in the film is near that much fun.
