It's basically scarface(the movie even pops up a few times in the movie - not the original scarface but the stone/depalma 1983 remake); nothing particularly new in this standard gangster story - the usual "rise and fall" story.
but it's pretty well done. my only problem with the casting is judd nelson - what's he doing in this picture!? completely unnecessary. if you're a fan of gangster movies it's worth a look.
