Review of New Jack City (1991) by Eve C — 12 Feb 2012

Highly underrated nearly 20 years later. This was Ice-T's first major film role and I believe this catapulted him into more acting roles. Ice-T was great as Scotty Appleton but it was Wesley Snipes as Nino Brown that took the cake.

I wonder who was a fiercer drug lord of New York, Nino Brown or Frank White from the King of New York? This film did very well in portraying how crack took over inner cities all over America and how two-bit hoods became major drug lords in very short time.

Definitely one of my favorite films and one of the best from the 1990s.
