Review of New Jack City (1991) by Sarah O — 29 Aug 2011

Wow. Wesley Snipes character is one of the most evil villians ever on screen. What makes Nino Brown even more chilling is that there are probably real drug bosses as ruthless and cold-hearted as he is.

I enjoyed seeing the early acting career of Ice-T and Chris Rock. This movie defined an era, and I'm glad that era is passed. I loved the costumes (although that is what people wore 25 years ago) and the music, although it was more nostalgia. The story is not as good as others, but a must-see recent classic.

As an afterthought, what was Mario Van Peebles character about? Seemed like he just wanted to make an appearance in the movie and get another acting credit to his name. Totally random.
