Review of New in Town (2009) by Daniel K — 22 Sep 2009
This is so rife with cliches it is ridiculous. I've seen every single scene and every single character in countless movies before this and I'm sure I'll continue to in the future. This wouldn't always have to be a negative, but it sure is here.
Honestly, who sits down and writes this crap. It would help if Zellweger was an actress I liked on screen or one that has aged well, but she is not. I also didn't entirely appreciate the manner in which not just Minnesota was portrayed, but people that live elsewhere as well.
It seemed quite unrealistic and disingenuous. It actually made me less likely to enjoy the picture. Fallon is really the only reason to watch the picture and that's definitely not enough. I much rather would have watched a picture about her character.
