Neverwas is an enchanting, fantasy-themed drama. It shows that fairy tales can be just the things that people need to get through the hard times. The film is dark and sad but it leaves you filled with hope by the end.
I liked how this film had its own unique spin on magic. Fantasy and reality twist and turn through the plot in an intriguingly clever waltz. It has some flaws but the story and characters were interesting enough that I was able to overlook them.
If you approach it like a critic you'll probably find a somewhat cheezy drama. If you approach it like a dreamer you might find a new favorite.
