Review of Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy (2010) by Ryan O — 21 Oct 2010
As far as "behind the scenes" and retrospective documentaries go, this one is top notch! There's actually information here that goes beyond the usual PR fluff that is often found in these types of films. If you're a fan of the Nightmare on Elm Street series, you're sure to find something that is of interest and fascinating.
Starting from the revolutionary first film to the most recent, this is an outstanding piece. You'll hear from the original cast of the first film, to areas of where the film makers admitedly screwed up on latter sequels to the event of trying to revive the franchise with Wes Craven's New Nightmare.
I loved it. Go beyond the scares, and learn more about the creation of these films. From script to special effects to casting. Some good stuff here.
This is the ultimate Freddy Kruger geek film.
