Review of Never Say Never Again (1983) by David S — 13 Dec 2011
The film is a bit of a pointless remake of 'Thunderball' that looks very dated now due to the heavy use of 80's products and music. However Connery still makes it all fun and there are some great moments to enjoy (the motorbike chase and exploding pen scene for example).
Barbara Caarrera steals the show as the most bonkers femme fatale you'll ever see but Brandauer is also a very nutty villain. The underwater sequences slow the whole thing down (like in 'Thunderball' ironically) and Atkinson is very unfunny as a precurser to Johnny English but this is till an enjoyable addition to the Bond universe, even if it is not an official one.
