Review of Never Let Me Go (2010) by Tim A — 18 Aug 2011
Lets slide this out of the way and say this is the best movie of 2010 :).
What a underrated film indeed, everything here is almost simply perfect and captures the spirit of the original novel.
The acting here is amazing, Carey Mulligan is great as Kathy, Andrew Garfield gives another great performance as Tommy, and Keira Knightly is also fantastic as Ruth about three kids who grow up who were born to be donors and live short lives. The filmmaking is genius, cinematography is so gorgeous, almost like a painting with the haunting imagery added in and beautiful score and perfect pace and direction, just overall depressing yet touching and beautiful film.
This is really far in 2011, but as for this film this is probably one of the best films of 2010 if not the best, incredible stuff here, just dont expect a happy ending.
10/10.
