Review of Never Let Me Go (2010) by Pamela F — 13 Sep 2011
This bleak, poetic film, based on a novel by Kazuo Ishiguro, is one of those films which leaves you silent when it ends, pondering. A completely (worryingly) foreseeable plot which doesn't need the aid of massive twists and thrills to convey its message. A good blend of sci-fi and drama; telling the tale of 3 children growing up together trying to discover and understand their fate. It's very much a slow paced movie, with no real climax - just a desperate story.
The characters at the end gave me a range of emotions - pity, desperation, empathy....
Of course, the great cast help achieve this!
