Review of Never Let Me Go (2010) by Antony G — 19 Jan 2013
A harrowing story about Kathy, Tommy & Ruth, who spend their childhood at Hailsham, an English boarding school. Upon leaving they must confront the harsh world of love, jealousy & betrayal & the horrible truth of their existence.
They live in a world where by the late 1960's the incurable has become curable & life expectancy has surpassed 100 years. Serious questions are asked of this film about ethics surrounding mankind playing God & at the conclusion of the film you'll not only have feelings of sadness but anger as well.
It's a truly sad film, if a little slow paced, with an excellent cast starring Keira Knightly & Andrew Garfield. I've touched on how the movie moves along but it's saving grace is longevity of it so you won't bore of it wishing for the ending.
