Review of Never Let Me Go (2010) by Abraham S — 22 Oct 2013
A sad, quiet trip that will leave you with mixed emotions - and it is certainly driven by a meditative emotional energy entire. The unfortunate reality of the principal characters is taken so bizarrely natural that it sort of put me out of the film for a while until I was able to adjust to the reality of the world I was presented.
Originally, this sparked my interest because of Carey Mulligan - I am in love with her, quite literally. She embodied her character with a greatness here that I can admire endlessly. She broke my heart a few times.
As did Isobel Meikle-Small - the sweet, beautiful young actress who played Carey Mulligan's character as a child. Andrew Garfield has never impressed me before but I welcomed him here - Tommy grew on me.
Keira Knightly, as uncomfortably awkward looking to me as usual, was pretty damn good too. Never Let Me Go has let me go but I am trying desperately to hold on - to remember Kathy, Ruth, and Tommy as they were before they completed.
