Review of Never Let Me Go (2010) by Ben T — 10 Nov 2013
The story, score and setting really add a lot of pathos to a genuinely sad tale of a world in which human clones are produced solely for the use of their organs. It follows the tale of two girls and their love interest from their innocent childhood to the later years of their lives when inevitably they 'complete'. The premise is dystopian, and the bleakness and sheer inhumanity of this world shows just how incoherent the idea is. The clones are capable of all the spectrums of emotion any human experiences; love, jealousy, anger etc, and they experience just that.
The thee characters develop an emotional relationship with the audience and one another as they all fight for one another's attentions. Their worlds are warped from their childhoods and throughout their lives they offer little fight against there inevitable purpose. A good film.
