Review of Never Die Alone (2004) by Jason Y — 12 Jul 2004
DVD First Viewing, 2 Dickerson films seen.
You know a movie's influence when they mention "a Quentin Tarantino movie" within the first 20 minutes. Never Die Alone isn't a bad film; it is just remnants of a good one. But, after hours of reflection (hehe), I realized that this film was a good change of pace. There is no "token" white guy cracking stupid jokes (to parallel the cliched "token" black guy in "white" films). Not really thought-provoking, but the structure is thoughtful on its own.
