Review of Never Been Kissed (1999) by Terri H — 03 May 2009
A 25 year old shy first time reporter(Drew Barrymore) gets sent undercover back to highschool. Where she tries to cope with the fact that nothing has changed since she went to highschool herself, a very cute teacher, the popular kids including Guy who is a replica of Billy Prince her hichschool crush and tormentor...and oh yeah...if she doens't get a great story...she and her boss will get fired.
It is a typical romantic comedy. It's cheesy, rather lame and overly cute. Amongst actors like Drew Barrymore, who is perfect as the geek trying to be popular, and David Arquette whose role as the goofy "never grow up" brother seems made for him we find atleast two very young soon-to-be well known actors. We see a young Jessica Alba and an equally young James Franco as some of the "cool kids" (James beeing as cute as ever).
Over all...if you like these cheesy rather predictable romatic comedies, it's a hit.
